Bhilai. The prefects council of RPS had taken a giant leap towards charity work. They mobilized fund collection drive by requesting the parents of RPS to donate generously for the cause of lighting faces of orphans of the District Durg. Students from LKG to Class XI donated generously and the students representative had gone to the Shashkiya Bal Griha, an Orphanage Home at Durg. The team of RPS that visited the orphanage consisted of the Prefectorial body of the school along with few teachers and some other student volunteers from classes VI to XI. They had carried Sweets, Note Books, Pencil, Diyas, Lights, Chocolates & Carrom boards. The students got the opportunity to extend a small service to humanity by presenting all these gifts to children of the orphanage, this lit up their
faces and brightened the forth coming festival-Diwali for both, the givers as well as the receivers. This visit was the life changing experience for the students who encountered the harsh realities of life and were filled with emotions and sentiments. The visit was also a fulfilling experience for the students of RPS as they came back with not only memories but also the valuable lessons of sharing and caring. After coming back they shared their experiences of the visit with the other students of the school, who in turn are also eager to get such an opportunity so that they can also contribute meaningfully to the society. The CEO of school, Mr. Arup Mukhopadhyay was filled with a sense of pride and appreciated the efforts and feelings with which the children indulged in offering a small streak of light into the otherwise gloomy lives of the orphans.
