Indian Institute Of Metals organizes lecture on “New Generation Refractories” 

Bhilai. Indian Institute Of Metals, Bhilai Chapter, organized lecture on the Technical Topic: “NEW GENERATION REFRACTORIES IN BHILAI STEEL PLANT” at HRD Centre of BSP on 20^th July’2018, under the guidance of the honorary Chairman of Bhilai Chapter and National Executive Committee member of IIM, Shri M. Ravi (CEO) BSP. GM I/c (Services) and honorary Vice President- 1  of Indian Institute Of Metals, Bhilai Chapter Shri B. Moharana was present as Chief Guest. GM (Plate Mill) and honorary Vice President -2 of IIM Bhilai Chapter, Shri A.K.Singh and Shri J.K.Bhosale GM (Refractory) were present as guests and provided valuable guidelines for ensuring success of this event. A large number of BSP executives were present along with Indian Institute of Metals Members on this occasion. Amongst the invitees Students and faculty from Bharti College of Engineering and Durg Polytechnic colleges were also present in large numbers. Shri B. Moharana GM I/c (Services) specially lauded the initiative of Indian Institute Of Metals, Bhilai Chapter for organizing such informational lecture, which was encouraging the innovative approach towards new generation refractories in BSP. He laid emphasis on quality and productivity & Economical outcome from BSP fraternity and appreciated the culture and confidence of the entire BSP collective. At the outset, the honorary Secretary of Indian Institute Of Metals, Bhilai Chapter and DGM (RMP-1) Shri Gyanesh Jha after welcoming the invitees, apprised them about general outline regarding the scheduled lectures. He also exhorted the assembled audience to register themselves as lifetime members of Indian Institute Of Metals. Soon after, Deputy Manager (RED) Shri Amit Roy and Manager(RED) Shri Indradip Chatterjee through their highly enlighten presentation apprised the audience regarding the new generation refractories in BhilaiSteel Plant.They also elaborated on the systems installed and its corrective applications as well as repair process etc., enabled the audience to understand the process better. On this occasion Young Metallurgist group consisting of Shri Sandeep Sahoo, Manager (Oprn), SMS-1 and Shri Ramakant Gupta (Dy. Mgr, SMS-1), BSP conducted the highly informative and challenging Metallurgy quiz for the audience. The active participation in conducting the ‘Quiz’ by J.K.Verma, R.K.Maini, K. Thatha Rao, was highly appreciated by the elite audience. D.L.Kumar, Yateendra Kumar, Swati Pradeep, K L Balasubramaniam, Bidyut panda, and several other working committee members contributed their services for ensuring the smooth conduct of this event. Richa Awasthi (Jr. Manager, RCL) conducted the proceedings, Shri SSRC Murthy AGM, Quality and honorary Treasurer IIM Bhilai Chapter proposed the vote of thanks while concluding this highly significant event.
