Navaratri celebration in RPS addresses social issues

Rungta Public SchoolBhilai. To inculcate the values of our great culture and tradition, Navaratri, also known as Durga Puja in some parts of the country was celebrated in Rungta Public School on 12th October 2018. Everyone present, worshipped the incarnation of Shakti, Goddess Durga and prayed for her blessings with vigour and enthusiasm.The celebration was organized by the members of Kalam House. It started with the invocation of Devi Durga that was done with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp accompanied with Shloka chanting in the praise of the Goddess by the honourable Chief Guest of the program, Director, Madam Harsha Rungta along with other dignitaries. This was followed by melodious rendition of a song, addressing a sensitive social issue- Dowry that still exists in our society. A spectacular Dance Drama was the next presentation that depicted the existing plight of the Indian society. Despite the great progress made in all fields, we are still bound by the shackles of orthodox beliefs. This was followed by a breathtaking dance performance’ Jai Durga Maa’, bringing the flavour of Bengal on the stage, followed by another mesmerizing performance by the students of primary school.The CEO, Mr. Arup Mukhopadhyay extended season’s greetings to everyone present on this joyful event in his speech he explained the objective and purpose of such celebration, creating awareness among the pupils. He wished the parents, students and staff members a very happy Navratri and Dussehra.The colourful and energetic Garba Dance performance at the end of the program, that was joined enthusiastically by the parents & the teachers proved to be the best way to conclude this special ‘Navratri Celebration’.
